  1. you do that in the RAF

  2. In May, Airbus published a statement to the effect they are looking to hire 500 engineers over the following 12 months, but outside of Europe because there is a shortage of qualified engineers.

I'd see the future looks bright.

Starting salary should be in the upper 30 k euros range, and what one can do is extremely vast. Stress, design, performance, engine modeling, system integration; you name it.

  3. would i know, o ya, don't answer

  4. I work as an aviation engineer for the military and I got my job right out of school. There are tons of things to do in the field: structures, vibrations, test flight, safety, avionics and systems integration (which is the management of the subsystems put together). I'd recommend systems integration because it pays the best and probably has the most room to move up. Although the other paths do live room to learn more technical stuff, but it's hard to get into a leadership position.

The pay in the field is good, but I can only speak from defense side of the house. And for the record I never got a license or advance degree.

  5. Most of the jobs are in Southern Calif.

  6. There are a lot of jobs out there.  Once you've got your engineering qualification you'd be better looking for an apprenticeship with one of the major companies (like BA).  Once you get licenced and type rated that's where the big bucks are.  Good luck!
