Jobs similar to UN ...?

are there any jobs that are similar to the type of work that UN employees do..but get payed a bit more and u don't have to travel as much (but i still LOVE to travel..i dont want to be stuck in one place everyday...so there's gotta be traveling involved) and i wouldn't have to move to another country like Geneva or another state like NY...?

thank you. im trying to figure out what career i want..i thought it would be easy, turns out its one of the hardest decisions ive ever had to make. so ANY suggestions or opinions would truly mean a lot!

  1. There's no "typical" UN job. There's no one thing they do. UN agencies (UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFCCC, UNIFEM, WHO, WFP, etc.) employs census takers, agricultural specialists, microfinance experts, radio technicians, journalists, child psychologies, human resources specialists, security specialists, logistics experts, secretaries, translators, researchers, wind energy experts, nurses, drivers.... when you say you want to do "UN-type" work, you have to be a *lot* more specific about what it is you want to do. Also, most UN employees *don't* travel.

    You say you don't want to move to another country (Geneva is a city, not a country). What country do you live in now? And that you don't want to move to another state, "like NY", but what state do you live in *now*?
