Jocelyn Deschamp outplays Edgaras Slusnys in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Polish Open 2012
Jocelyn Deschamp, an aggressive shuttler from France, proved his mettle and secured his place in Men’s Singles main round after crushing Lithuania’s Edgaras Slusnys in qualifying round match at the Polish Open 2012 in Poland, on Thursday, August 30.
The un-seeded Jocelyn, who remained incredible in all of his clashes in the qualifying round, maintained his rhythm and remained successful in beating his Lithuanian rival without losing any game to him.
Jocelyn was remarkable in his game plan as he showed strong performance in first set and took it easily. However, he had to employ all of his skills to overpower Edgaras in the following set and won the battle with a reasonable score on the board.
On the other hand, Edgaras was shocked with the severe treatment he got from his rival in the opening set. But he put up a good show in the second game and stretched his opponent to the limit before losing the match in straight games.
The in-form French shuttler was completely out of control in the opening set as he played with aggression and remained in tremendous form all the way to take a staggering lead at the starting points.
The powerful and down-the-line smashes of Jocelyn helped him to grab a lucrative lead on the board until the end of opening set.
After the mid-game interval, Jocelyn continued displaying spectacular show of attacking badminton throughout the concluding half and easily finished off the set with a crushing 21-6 score on the board.
Nevertheless, Edgaras made it tough for Joycelyn to set up lead in opening half as he played with impressive speed and remained close on board until the mid-game interval.
After the break, they continued playing at the same speed and no one could grab a comfortable lead until the score reached at 21-21.
At this crucial stage, Jocelyn worked really well at net and remained successful in winning the second game with a close 23-21 margin on the board.
The impressive French shuttler managed to overpower his Lithuanian opponent in two sets with a convincing difference of 21-6 and 23-21.
