Jockey, Anthony Peter McCoy, continues with the set precedent in jump horse racing
If trainers, Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson, are the most famous and highly accomplished in the National Hunt racing then the ace jockey for the sport has to be A. P. McCoy. Anthony Peter McCoy enjoys the Order of British Empire title right next to his
name due to a career that has been relentless and even flawless at times.
The Irish jockey based in England enjoyed his first success in 1992 at the age of seventeen. He has raced some more than 3,600 victors to date and is safe with a very significant margin drawn. It will take any jockey almost a lifetime to set or reach the
record as high as his.
Something yet more unbelievable about the endless success of the jockey is the British Champion Jump Jockey title that he has never missed. Even when he raced as an apprentice, the jockey was way better and far more successful than those who were proper
licensed riders.
His initials ‘AP’ or just the title, ‘the Champ’ is enough for anyone to figure out that the champion is being addressed or is being commented about.
There is hardly a race that the prime jump racing jockey has ever missed, however, the high lights of his profile include, the Cheltenham Cup, Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, King George VI Chase and no one can ever forget his success in the
2010 Grand National.
The powerful jockey is retained by much more influential owner, J. P. McManus, his racing circuit that is why is not constrained to the Great Britain, he visits race courses in Ireland occasionally too.
With almost a £1 million retention fee, the jockey joined the McManus alliance in 2004. In order to work with the millionaire, J. P. McManus, the jockey had to wave off seven-year long terms with the prior trainer, Martin Pipe.
Many dreaded the decision as according to them the jockey would have needed the backing like Martin Pipe’s stable in order to bring back the champion title again. Proving the doubts of others wrong, the hype of the jump racing industry took the title right
after joining McManus.
