Jockey, Eddie Ahern, to start off the 2013 season with hearing sessions
Jockey, Frankie Dettori, recently faced suspension from the France Galop due to the drug test that ran positive. Jockey, Eddie Ahern, also has somewhat the same fate awaiting, but on completely different grounds. In his case, he is not fighting against just one allegation, rather there is an army of three rules which he has broken within the duration of September, 2009 to February, 2011.
On 21st January, 2011, the seven-year-old brown gelding, Judgethemount, was ridden by jockey, Eddie Ahern, in the Felbridge Handicap at Lingfield race course over two miles.
According to sources, the jockey did not let the mount perform at his full potential as the rider held him back from racing energetically. Judgethemount finished last in the field of seven as the race was won by, Mashdood.
During the hearing that will begin on 29th April, 2013 to 3rd May, the jockey will have to answer the corruption charges.
Next in the list of the allegations is the passing on of ‘inside information’ that too not regarding one or two horses, but four, one at Chester the other at Wolverhampton and a pair at Kempton.
The jockey went to an extent that he engaged the former West Bromwich Albion defender, Clement, in the illegalities of betting. Both are now being held responsible of placing a lay bet on the seven-year-old bay gelding, Hindu Kush.
Riding with the accused jockey he lost the Lay Back And Win At Betdaq.com Handicap on 2nd February, 2011 at Kempton race course over a mile and four furlongs.
Another part involved in possibly letting out the ‘inside information’ is the Ken Clutterbuck stable.
He said: "I backed the horse to win at Lingfield and James backed it to win. The horse had gone up a lot in the handicap and it was his third run in about 10 days. Adam (Kirby) rode the horse perfectly well.”
"James hasn't got the money to fight the BHA. He has been sorting out getting his licence for the last couple of months as he was going to take over from me in February, but obviously they put that on hold until this came out. We'll have to see what happens in May, but it's totally ridiculous.”
