Jockey Rosie Napravnik was involved in an unfortunate accident where the female jockey broke her wrist on 7 July, but it didn’t take her long make her comeback, as she was back riding once again after getting healed from her injury at Delaware Park on 15
October, 2011.
In the 2010-11 meet, Rosie Napravnik went on to win the leader rider crown at Fair Grounds after securing 110 wins as she coasted to the title at the end of the season. The second best was 31 wins adrift from Rosie Napravnik which speaks for her emphatic
year as a jockey.
That is why her main goal this season was to come back at Fair Grounds and keep the good times rolling there and make up for whatever time she has lost being away from the course and especially the time she missed when she was recovering from her injury.
From 15 October, till now, Rosie Napravnik has gone on to ride in 11 races, mostly maiden special weight races, maiden claimers, allowance races and allowance claimers.
Her comeback race was at Delaware Park, and she rode Coach Fridge in the First State Dash over at five and a half furlongs on dirt, but couldn’t make much of an impact on the race as she finished an unplaced eighth on the day.
On the same day, Rosie Napravnik bounced back to win the Small Wonder Stakes run over at five and a half furlongs riding The Funky Express at Delaware Park.
Rosie Napravnik returned to grades stakes company in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Stakes at Aqueduct, riding Tiz Miz Sue over at 1 1/8 miles, but the pair finished fourth on the day.
“I’m really excited to be back,” Napravnik said. “I keep saying that if I do half as well this year I’ll be okay.”
That is what Rosie Napravnik said when she got back to Fair Grounds where she will be working with the horses in preparation for the opening day.
“I was busy right away working horses for all different people,” she said. “Everyone seemed ready, and hopefully we’ll start off the same way. We’re on a ton of live horses opening day.”
