Jockey Ryan Moore guides Sea Moon and Mister Marc to victory at Goodwood on 26th May, 2012.
Sir Michael Stoute's charge, Sea Moon proved his worth in the Southern Daily Echo Tapster Stakes at Goodwood, on 26th May, 2012, as a favourite with 2-7 odds of winning, concluding it in grand fashion as he emerged victorious.
The son of Beat Hollow, out of mare Eva Luna, was paired with Ryan Moore and together, they crushed the competition as they beat the James Fanshawe trained Dandino by a marginal difference of a head.
With rider Hayley Turner on his back, Dandino looked extremely hard to beat, but Sea Moon saw a little room to progress and stole his victory right under his nose.
John Dunlop’s charge, Berling finished 5 lengths behind the runner-up whereas Cill Rialaig finished fourth.
Moore had a successful day because he also led the two-year-old Mister Marc to success in the E B F Anthony Simmons Maiden Stakes (Sponsored By Telecom UK), which covered a distance of 6 furlongs.
Trained by Richard Hannon for owner Andrew Russell, the bay colt entered the race with 7-2 chance and made the most progress in the final furlong when he defeated the Michael Bell trained Kimberella by 1 length.
The race favourite, The Gold Cheongsam, ridden by jockey, William Buick, narrowly missed the victory when he finished a neck behind the runner-up.
The young Sputnik Sweetheart also delighted trainer Richard Hannon with her victory in the Brighton Argus Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood on 26th May, 2012, where she raced in the capable hands of jockey, Pat Dobbs.
With an unmatched pace and mighty determination, she knocked the race favourite, Ensejaam out of first place by a margin of 2 lengths to win the seven furlong race.
The third place was awarded to Sangrail, who missed the victory by a considerable margin of 6 ½ lengths.
This was the first victory of her career for the daughter of Oasis Dream, out of mare Sachet, who has competed in four starts since her career began on 20th April, 2012.
With the exception of her maiden, the bay filly has scored twice as a runner-up and finally added a victory to her record.
