I have a 15. y.o tb, who is tattooed... I don’t know what his racing name was, and I can just barely make out the tattoo, I believe it is

S40138

Does this sound like a JC number?

Is there any way to find out what his name was and if he won anything?

the one thing i do know is that he probably raced at Suffolk Downs in Boston, MA. [it is the only race track around for a few states]

  1. Go to:

    http://www.tjcis.com/otherServicesDispla...

This is the Jockey Club's tattoo research site. It will cost $35 to get your horse's name. Once you have the name go to:

    www.pedigreequery.com

to get your horse's pedigree for free. According to the tattoo, your horse is 18, not 15.

    You can go to:

    www.drf.com

to get your horse's race record. But you will need his name, year of birth, sire and dam.

  2. yes, a JC tattoo is a letter followed by 5 numbers.  According to the letter though, your horse is 18 years old.  The only way to find out his racing name and other info is to go through the jockey club and they want to charge you $35 for their services.  If you can find out his name, you can find his breeding online at www.pedigreequery.com and it has a summary of his racing career, but only tells you how many races and how many wins, places, and shows.  You can get some info free from equineline.com, but you need his race name first.

I really want to find out my mare's race name but I don't have $35 to waste and my barn manager knows her former owners but I can't get her to trace the line back to her racehorse owners...  if you find a simpler way to find this info, please let me know!
