Newly signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player, Joe Allen has revealed the Reds manager Brendan Rodgers to be the major reason behind his decision of joining the Merseyside club.
The Welsh footballer completed his switch from Swansea City to Liverpool last week. The move is reported to have cost the Anfield club a total of 15 million pounds in transfer fee. Besides that, the Reds will also pay a 2 million pounds signing-on fee to
the midfielder.
Earlier, Allen was heavily tipped by many to re-unite with his former Liberty Stadium boss at Anfield, given his close relationship with the Northern Irishman and his impressive two-year stint under his supervision at Swansea.
The notion was confirmed by the 22-year old, who confessed that the idea of working under the Ulsterman all over again was an alluring one for him. He believed Rodgers playing ethos will help the Reds come out of their current slump, and was excited about
being a part of his reinvigoration process.
He told the reporters in an interview, “Obviously Brendan being here was a massive pull for me. His whole footballing philosophy and the fantastic two years I had under him at Swansea will I'm sure be great with me making the transition and I'm raring to
get started.”
Despite his good working partnership with the 39-year old at the Welsh club, Allen played down the idea of him automatically getting a place in the Reds starting-eleven. He insisted that there was a stiff competition in the entire squad, as everyone is eager
to make an impression on the manager, and he will need to be at his very best in order to solidify his place in the team.
The talented schemer was a part of the Great Britain squad in the recently concluded Olympic Games, and is also set to feature for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 in their upcoming friendly fixture against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday.
When asked if his packed international schedule had taken a toll on his fitness, the player responded by negating the idea, and instead claimed that it had served as a perfect preparatory exercise for him going into the next season.
He added, “It was an incredible experience. To play that level of football going into a season is going to be perfect I think for me. Hopefully it will help with me coming here and hitting the ground running.”
