  1. i am not sure that kelly is quite ready for a fighter of joe's calibre.....if pavlik gets hit like he did in the first taylor fight, it's over as calzaghe won't let him off the hook, otherwise joe by decision or late stoppage.

  2. Calzaghe would win hes a smarter fighter , has much more speed , has the exp on his side. Throws a lot of punches and Kelly i feel is still untested he beat taylor twice in close fights and ko miranda whos not that big of a deal , he needs more fights first. On the other hand Calzaghe hasnt really beat anyone too impressive yet either but i think he has more natural skill and has been doing this a lot longer than Kelly. See what happens/how he looks against B-hop first.

  3. Ooh, tough one. This would be a tough one because of the weight, really. Calzaghe is supposed to be moving up, and dropping to 166, although he can do it, wouldn't really do him any favors. How drained Calzaghe would be at the weight would play a part. So too would be how well Pavlik carries his power at, say 166. Frank Warren was talking about letting Joe go to America, but that was to face Hopkins. Would he let Joe go to take on Pavlik? Bearing in mind Joe's desire to fight in the US, I believe Warren's hands would be tied here.

As for the fight itself: I don't think Pavlik can drop Joe - Kessler couldn't drop him with flush right hands. I believe Joe did drop Mikkel with a borderline shot, and bearing in mind that Taylor dropped Pavlik, I believe that Calzaghe could do the same at some point tin the fight. Also, because of the punch output of both fighters, this would be a candidate for fight of the year. Joe and Kelly trade, and Joe gets hurt early, but comes back, drops Pavlik in the 5th and the 8th, and the referee stops it in Round 10. Calzaghe wins by TKO

  4. Tough call, Calzaghe has a slight edge in size but I think Pavlik is a much better fighter than Kessler.  I give Pavlik a definite edge in the power department, and I think Pavlik would keep that jab in Joe's face all night long, whacking Joe is Calzaghe tried to mix it up.

I like Pavlik in this one.
