Joe Calzaghe Vs. America?

Question

If Joe beats Bernard Hopkins convincingly,will you Americans finally give him the respect he deserves?

Everybody said Lacy would murder Joe,when Joe gave lacy the beating of his life and embarrassed him,the Americans called it a fluke

Everybody said Kessler would murder Joe,but Joe absolutly outclassed teh big dane....The Americans said it was a fluke.

People even said Manfredo and Bika would beat Joe but he beat both of them convincingly.

In my eyes,Joe Calzaghe is the real worlds best pound4pound boxer,not mayweather.

Would be nice to hear some refreshing non biased opinions on our fighters by Americans that have seen more than 1 fight! (most Americans think Hatton is a joke,yet don't know how exciting his career has been).

If Joe does beat B-hop im sure he will get all the credit/respect he deserves. He should have came to America sooner to fight though, i think the only reason he is fighting hopkins now is cause it was really his only option left at this stage of his carear. Lets remember one thing as well  Calzaghe needs hopkins , hopkins doesnt need him, he already has fought everyone and left his mark on the sport. I dont Calzaghe's win over lacy was a fluke at all but i think lacy was extremly over rated and inexperienced and obvisouly took Calzaghe too lightly. As far as kessler goes dont think he was anything special either, just cause a fighter is undeafeted really isnt saying much. I already give Calzaghe a ton of respect and love to watch him fight but best p4p not a chance , he needs to fight more known fighters and win , only impressive wins on his record are lacy and kessler (most people in america dont even know who kessler is). Also  manfredo is a bum i knew he had no chance in h**l against Calzaghe. As far as Calzaghes  possible future fights i think he would beat roy jones easily , and beat pavlik but not as easyily as jones. Far as hopkins goes Calzaghe is a favorite but think this will be his toughest fight and im gonna be going for hopkins.

Im American and to tell u the truth I have been interested in Calzaghe for about a year now. He has an exciting style, can give and take a punch, and always comes to fight. The fight with Kessler was very good and I was impressed how he outpunched and beat a younger and supposedly stronger opponent.

The only problem with Calzaghe is that he seems to never leave Wales for a fight. I have to admit it but if a fighter wants exposure and a household name u need to fight in the U.S.A. a couple of times. Im not being arrogant just truthfull.

M.S.G. in New York, Vegas, and Atlantic City are boxing meccas that have been the site of superfights for decades and would be great places for Calzaghe to show the world his skills.

Of course if he beats Hopkins he will be critiqued for beating an old man, if he loses he lost to an old man. Nobody is saying that now but will after the fight. So he is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

I myself think he will beat Hopkins and it should be a great fight, from there who knows? Pavlik, Roy Jones, there is a host of fights he could have that will cement his place in boxing history.

EDIT: What I  was meaning to say was he needed to fight more out of the U.K. during his career.

I'd like to stop talking about "what-ifs" with Calzaghe and actually see him fight Hopkins etc., before everyone's too old.

Hey, i'm American and think Calzaghe is an excellent boxer and give him all the respect in the world, he will beat Hopkins then we should see the fight i've been waiting for, Pavlik vs. Calzaghe. if i had to bet money on that fight i'd bet Calzaghe

Joe Calzaghe is not only a great boxer but he is a lovely man too. and he can whip any American no problem.  I really rate Joe he is the tops unbeaten in his career that deserves and should get respect.

i will give him credit but not so much. b hop is 43 years old . he is fightign and old f**t. ill give him more credit if he would have fought b hop 6 years back. and i would give him more credit if he beat winky.
