Joe Calzaghe reckons David Haye will knockout Wladimir Klitschko within five rounds – Boxing news
The former WBO, WBA, WBC and IBF super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe has picked the current WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye as a winner for his upcoming fight with Wladimir Klitschko on July 2, 2011.
The Italian Dragon, Calzaghe, reckons ‘The Hayemaker’ has a lot of speed as compared to the IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko.
Therefore, Calzaghe believes The Hayemaker, Haye, who will face Klitschko in a highly anticipated unification bout for the heavyweight titles this Saturday at Hamburg’s Imtech Arena in Germany, will win the fight by the way of a knockout.
“I think Haye will knock him out,” said Calzaghe.
Though the 39-year-old Calzaghe admitted Klitschko’s right hand could be very devastating for Haye, he said Haye is way more athletic and quick than the 6 ft 6.5” Ukrainian giant, Klitschko.
In the end, Calzaghe stated that Haye is going to win the bout within the first five rounds and will bring all the titles with him.
While speaking on his inclusion, he remarked, “He needs to be careful of Klitschko’s right hand because he’s got good power. Whoever gets the first shot in, his opponent could be in trouble. I think it’s going to be a chess match, it’s going to be cagey,
but I don’t see the fight going longer than five rounds.”
He added, “Klitschko will never have fought anyone as athletic and quick as David Haye. Don’t forget he’s been knocked out a couple of times by fighters who aren’t in David’s class. I think Haye will bring the titles home.”
There is only a day left now when both these boxing’s best will be one-on-one in front of an anticipated crowd of over 60,000 people.
However let’s see if Haye, who is going to enter the fight as an underdog, is really able to shock the world by beating Klitschko in his native country.
