http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international Joe Cole is excited about the prospect of making his French Ligue 1 debut for reigning champions LOSC Lille at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard against AS Saint-Etienne.
The 29-year-old signed for Les Dogues on transfer deadline day in a season-long loan move from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 would surely help him in resurrecting
his career that has seen a downfall since he joined Liverpool from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 as a free agent last summer.
the former Chelsea midfielder had a long international career with the Three Lions but has now fallen out of favour during http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello’s reign as the manager of England.
However, Joe Cole still wants to represent England and has made no secret of his desire to make it back to the national team.
“I am looking at it now watching every game and it’s hard to see the lads out there doing it, I know with some players it looks like they feel the pressure when they play for England but for me, I loved it and I just hope to be back involved at some point,”
the 29-year-old said.
Before thinking of making it back to the national setup, Joe Cole must impress Lille coach Rudi Garcia with his performance. The Englishman knows that he must prove himself in Ligue 1 before thinking about anything and has said that he is looking forward
to playing for the French champions.
While talking to the French media, the midfielder said, "I'm looking forward to it, the manager obviously was concerned because I've only actually played one 90 minutes in about nine months and it's been a tough time for me in my career.”
Cole is in contention of making his Lille debut against Saint-Etienne next week and further proved his willingness to adapt to a new life in a new place by discussing the conditions at Saint-Etienne.
"It's a tough place, really hostile crowd," he explained. "They're quite physical by all accounts, but I'm ready to go. All I need is a run of five or 10 games and I'll be back to my best no problem.
With his career getting another chance at redemption, Cole knows that he must defy all odds in order to once again become the player that many people thought he would become when he signed for Chelsea several seasons ago.
