Joe Cole happy with new owners
Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole believes that John W. Henry and New England Sports Ventures (NESV) can make Liverpool a successful club again.
The owners took over the club after a bitter dispute with former club owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Liverpool has suffered a disastrous start to the season under new manager Roy Hodgson. The club has only picked up one win (against West Brom), and stands with just six points from eight games.
But Cole believes that the players can move on and that they won’t be distracted by the off-field events at the club.
"We're happy that it's all sorted out and the club's got some direction again. I know the fans are happy."
Henry and new chairman Thomas Werner addressed the players on Saturday and outlined their plans for the club.
Cole was impressed by what the American owners had to say. "They seem genuine and they seem like they are doing it through passion. Everything seems great."
The England midfielder believes that Henry is capable of bringing success to the club, and pointed out that his past record with the Boston Red Sox shows that he has the credentials to take Liverpool forward.

"I definitely think they can help us get back up there."
Cole admitted that Liverpool needed to invest in new players if they plan on challenging the top teams in the Premier League.
Henry has refused to speculate on transfers, but has suggested that any money used by the club will be spent "wisely".
Cole will now turn his attention to football matters. Liverpool travels to Napoli in the group stages of the Europa League.
The team will face a far more important match against Blackburn in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday, 24 October, and the pressure will be on Cole and Liverpool to deliver.
