Signed on loan from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international Joe Cole hasn’t fared bad at all during his time at the Stade Villeneuve d’Ascq.
The arrival of Cole to the club from Northern http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 was certainly a big surprise as it’s very rare for an Englishman to leave the English Premier League. Since his arrival at the club, Joe Cole has said many times that he is enjoying life at France and
initially, the midfielder also said that he would love to extend his stay at Lille.
Absent from the English national team setup since the 2010 World Cup disaster, Cole has not heard from manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015, rumours circulated that Cole might be included
in the squad. However, this did not happen.
Apart from getting an international call-up, Cole is also keen on representing the Great Britain team in the 2012 London Olympics at his home town.
“I’d love to (go to the Olympics). I also have tickets but it will be hard,” said Cole who like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 has applied for one of the three places assigned to players above 23 for the Olympic team.
While his stay at Lille has been far better than his recent seasons, Cole is still unclear about what the future holds for him in the Ligue 1. Cole can see his loan option turned into a transfer knowing that a third of his salary (430,000 Euros per month)
is supported by LOSC.
However, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 man says that he has no idea about anything as he has never negotiated a one season contract.
“When the time comes, we will sit. I am happy and my family and Lille are also happy. It is too early to talk about it,” said Cole before indicating that he is really enjoying life in France.
Though Rudi Garcia is tempted to sign on a permanent basis, the club might not be able to afford a player who might not be looking to take a significant amount of pay cut. However, a future transfer of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 could see Lille attempt to sign a midfielder
who still has a lot to offer.
