Joe Cole will be at Liverpool for a long time
Joe Cole does seem happy at his new club Chelsea but his lack of prudency has given him a deathly blow. It will not be easy for him to make a transfer to any other big clubs anymore and the reason for that is not Chelsea’s refusal to allow him a renewal contract but his lack of intelligence in making statements at his new club, Liverpool.
Upon his arrival he stated that Liverpool happens to be the “biggest club in the country” and that was not all. His statements mocked Chelsea’s support and brought on the idea that he had been unhappy at Chelsea. This certainly has disappointed the Chelsea supporters that had given him their support for the past 7 years.
Well all teams do hate the Chelsea supporters for their typical aggressive nature and stubbornness. The latest actions by Cole will now have landed him in the far end of the table where the rest of the teams sit that also hate the Chelsea fans.
Teams like Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspurs, Arsenal and of course Manchester United occupy that side. Football experts and analysts see this as act which will either result in the future of Cole at Liverpool for a very long time or will have him enter the club with other London groups.
Cole should have certainly thought twice when he stated lines like, “I know I have made the right decision and I am looking forward to the challenge”.
Also when he said, “I could have stayed at Chelsea because the fans loved me and I won things, but I wanted to challenge myself and when I knew Liverpool were interested it was a no-brainer because they are the biggest club in the country”.
Moreover, “This is a massive club. I tried to take everything out of the equation, take the financial and location side out and just thought in football terms”.
Cole has totally forgotten about his fans at Stamford Bridge that were right behind his back in times of trouble and happiness. There is no thanks to his worshippers that sang his name and crowded the man from Stamford Bridge wherever he went.
Early in his career when he was at Chelsea it was not that easy to get on to the star studded team from West London. Back then the team was under Jose Mourinho, the current manger of Real Madrid, and those were certainly difficult times for him.
After that he spent nearly a year out because of an injury but it was a scene to remember when he came back on at the Matthew Harding and the stadium rang with his name.
His praise for Liverpool for being the greatest club does raise issue as the club has definitely been one of the greatest with a long legacy and many titles but its recent performance do tarnish all that. Their last title came in 2005 and though since then they have come close in obtaining another, their performances have nevertheless been erratic.
Liverpool ended up at the 7th position last season and the same shameless performance was given at the Champions League. Though they finished the season before at the 2nd place and had nearly obtained the Premier League title their unpredictable performance has confounded fans even at the Champions League where they usually star the league.
Joe Cole has commented a lot about his time in Chelsea facing Liverpool, stating that the enormous club overwhelms him and he has seen so many fans that every person he runs into seems one.
He has stated that when he played against Liverpool their “You’ll never walk alone” motto when sung has always been admired by him. Now when one enters a new club it is common knowledge that you do not blab about the greatness of your new club immediately especially when the club has rivalry against each other.
Cole has certainly axed his chances of entering a new club as other clubs will certainly not like to sign in a player that not only forgets them but instead disrespects them as well when he leaves.
