Apart from Denly’s innings, Key and Sam Northeast also played exceptionally well. However, both players would have been disappointed, missing out on their centuries, scoring 91 and 99 runs respectively.
Kent finished their first innings with 459 runs. All the runs came from the top-order batsmen, as the last seven wickets fell for just 30 runs.
Leicestershire’s bowler, Wayne White, managed to pick up four wickets, giving some momentum to his team.
However, the Leicestershire batsmen were unable an impression once they came out to bat in their first innings. The entire team was out for 251 runs and had to follow on. Leicestershire’s Opener, Will Jefferson, was the only batsman to take his score past
fifty, as he ended up with 77 runs.

of a fight back in the game.
White also played nicely for his 71-run knock, guiding the visitors to a decent lead in the match.
Robbie Joseph had a good day with the ball, grabbing four wickets in the innings.
