Although they were contemporaries (Norton was probably in his prime slightly later than Frazier) they never fought. If they would have met at their best who would have won and how?

  1. Kenny Norton could beat and compete with heavyweights who were boxers (Holmes and Ali). Norton had problems when he fought Heavyweight sluggers (he was destroyed by Foreman) that came right at you. Norton didn't like to fight while backing up, and that's exactly what Frazier would do to him. Frazier would put relentless pressure on Kenny. Frazier would force the fight the whole way until he KO'd Norton in round 11.

  2. These two old friends agreed to never fight each other from what I've always heard.  If they would have, it would have been a really good and close fight in my opinion.  They both gave the great Muhammad Ali all he wanted.  Frazier used that bob and weave style keeping constant pressure on his opponent.  Norton used kind of a cross armed defense and had a very quick and sneaky jab.  There would be a lot of close rounds in my opinion and would be a battle of wills and heart.  I believe near the end of the fight, that Frazier would start landing the harder and claner punches and eke out a very close split decision victory.

  3. Ken Norton would never have been able to stand up to Frazier's relentless pressure. Norton was only good when he could dictate the pace of the fight and was the aggressor. No way would Smokin' Joe allow this to happen. A fighter who could pressure Norton and could punch basically had their way with Norton. Frazier by a 5th round ko.

  4. Frazier would have knocked Norton out....................................

With all of his talents Norton's biggest weakness was his chin, every time he went up against a big puncher he was knocked out..................Foreman, Shavers, Cooney and a leeser known fighter Garcia all knocked Norton out!

Frazier would land that vicious left hook and it would be lights out!

  5. Joe had better chin and are always throw more punches per round than Ken Norton.

  6. Count me in the Frazier crowd.

  7. Joe Frazier would win by knockout. He once knocked out Muhammad Ali everyone forgets that I remember him winning back the championship and then Muhammad Ali faced George Foreman to win back the title.

  8. these guys never fought because they  were best friends...but if they had, i believe frazier would have broken through nortons defences  and take a decision over norton.
