  1. It would seem that Dempsey should win by KO.  Styles make fights and although Frazier (205) is a bit heavier than Dempsey (195) it's only by 10-12 pounds, not much when you're dealing with heavyweights.

Another thing to consider is that Frazier is more "Bottom Heavy" than Dempsey.  Dempsey's chest is about an inch larger.  He has thinner legs than Frazier.   Up close Frazier can push Dempsey back.  However, Shot for Shot, Dempsey might have a slight edge.

When you look at the difference in leg and trunk size between the two you will see that they are much closer in upper body with Dempsey actually having a slight edge in power.

Frazier could trouble Dempsey because Jack has never faced a pressure fighter of Frazier's type.  Neither would do a lot of bobbin-n-weaving because of their respective styles against each other.  Neither made much use of the uppercut.  IF Frazier can get inside he can do a lot of damage with his hook.  Dempsey had a slightly better chin and could catch Frazier coming in.

Because of the rules of the time, and all Dempsey was allowed to get away with, it's hard to tell just how hard he can really punch.  Remember Jess Willard's claim of loaded gloves?  How do we KNOW there is no truth to it?  There were no regulated bodies over-seeing the use of equipment.

Another thing to consider.  IF there WAS a mandatory 8 count during Dempsey's time,  would he have as many early KOs?  I don't think so.

If Dempsey's stats are all true he should win this by KO in the fifth.   As time goes by I often wonder just how things might have panned out for him in a time with RULES.
