  1. You know you have a swarmer vs a slugger! Remember Frazier's fight with Foreman and that would tell you who would win. Frazier will be tailor-made for Liston. Liston by KO in 5.

  2. I go with Frazier.  Power!

  3. frazier he's an animal

  4. I think Liston would win, no real weakness

  5. I would disagree.

In 1954 a smaller boxer, who was very defensive and crouching, named Marty Marshall, handed Liston one of his first defeats, and also broke his jaw. Alot of people say that Liston was caught laughing at the smaller fighter. Marshall was a journeyman, not the smaller powerhouse that Frazier was.

Joe Frazier never went in straight...and had a defensive crouch to set up his left hook. He would cause alot of problems for Liston...who did his best punching straight up guys like Patterson.

I see the upset, flash knockdown by Frazier.

  6. Liston was a very powerful puncher possibly the hardest of all time and liston could take a punch if you ask me but i think if it went past the 6th round then liston would be screwed but i really dont think it would.

  7. I think Liston would knock him out

  8. i agree with devon, i have much respect for frazier who only ever lost to ali and foreman, but liston beats him just as foreman did....frazier just has the wrong style for him.

  9. So many today forget just how much of a destrctive force Liston really was. This of course stems from the two Clay/Ali bouts in 64,65. The Liston of 1958, IMO would have treated a 203 lb. Joe Frazier similar to what Foreman did in 1973 and latter at the Nassau, N.Y.  site. Frazier can't reach Liston with the left hook, because he can't get by Liston's pole like left jab and 84 " reach. Styles make fights and IMO, both Liston and a proven Foreman had the the reach to keep Joe off and the uppercut to hurt and tko. Joe.  Out of 10 bouts, Liston would win 8, if not all of them. Yes, Joe had heart, but any referee would stop it for Joe's sake.

  10. I liked Joe Frazier but a prime Liston would have knocked him out in about 5 rounds.  Liston was a good boxer great puncher.  He outboxed and chased Eddie Machen, who was known for his boxing ability, their entire fight and Liston had a great powerful left jab..  Frazier is standing right in front of him.  Frazier had too much pride and was too stubborn to fight any other way.  Liston knocks him out.
