Manchester City and England goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 has revealed he intends to let the referees handle any racial abuse incident arising during the European Championships.
After comments by Italian striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Platini, the UEFA President, confirmed the rule
which stopped players from leaving the pitch.
As it stands, a player cannot leave the pitch without the referee’s permission, even if they are subjected to abuse by the spectators. The 25-year-old Hart urged the other players to let the referees handle the situation and not get worked up over it.
Hart said in an interview:
“Hopefully the referee and UEFA will take it into their own hands if that problem does occur. Fingers crossed we won't have to deal with anything like that. It's down to the referee.
We can't take rules into our own hands. If the referee feels it's right for us to walk off then we'll follow him.”
After a highly successful season with Manchester City, where they went on to win the English Premier League, Hart has been chosen as the England number one goalkeeper. He will be in a side riddled with injuries and suspensions, but remained confident of
his side’s chances in the tournament.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 is suspended for the opening two fixtures. However, Hart was certain his side possessed the quality and fighting
spirit to do well in the European Championships, even though they had been swept aside as underdogs.
He revealed:
“We're all hungry guys. We're all successful at football, and that's what we want, we want success. We don't want to go there thinking people won't mind if we lose, we can go home, we can go on holiday and no-one will care.
We have high expectations otherwise there's no point us being here.”
