Joe Johnson shares his views on new snooker season – Snooker Update
Previous snooker season finished successfully with the end of the 2012 World Snooker Championship where the Rocket, Ronnie O’Sullivan was victorious after beating the Captain Ali Carter by the score line of 18-11.
The new snooker season has started with some tremendous fireworks at the venues of 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker event and the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open event.
The former World Snooker Championship winner, Joe Johnson is keeping a close eye on the events of new snooker season and in his recent blog on the World Snooker official website, he has shared his views about the new season. The former champ really appreciated
the way World Snooker proceeded during the first two events of the 2012-13 Snooker Season.
Johnson wrote in his blog on the World Snooker website, “The start of the new season got underway with the Wuxi classic in China, won by Ricky Walden who beat Stuart Bingham 10-4 in the final.”
He added, “What was amazing about this final was that Stuart made a maximum 147 break and two other centuries in winning his four frames! The Six Reds World Championship in Thailand, which was not a ranking event, was won for the second time by Mark Davis,
adding to his 2009 win in Ireland.”
The 2012 Wuxi Classic got the status of a major ranking snooker event when the World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn made an announcement during the final proceedings of the 2012 World Snooker Championship. With some classy snooker skills, England’s Ricky Walden
was able to claim the Wuxi Classic title after putting an end to Stuart Bingham’s run by the score line of 10-4.
This new snooker season has featured many new faces on the surface of the game that have performed tremendously from the start of the season. Winner of the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open, Stuart Bingham performed pretty well in the 2012 Wuxi Classic and
made his way into the final clash. Another emerging potter is Ricky Walden who was tremendous in the Chinese event.
In the recently finished 2012 Australian Goldfields Open, winner of the 2012 Snooker Shootout, Barry Hawkins, who played impressively in the event and claimed the event title beating Peter Ebdon by 9-3.
