Joe Perry believes joining On Q Promotions management will be helpful in future
Englishman Joe Perry joined the player management company, On Q Promotions, on June 21. After spending a few days with the On Q Promotions team, he believes his performance has improved and his approach
towards the game has changed. He also thinks that his partnership with this new management will definitely be helpful for him in future events.
The 36-year-old Perry joined the management’s Pink Army that already has some of the shining names of world snooker like Mark Allen, Gerard Greene and Barry Hawkins. On Q Promotions is a player management
company that helps professionals to enhance their professional as well as personal lives and provide them with healthy consultancy.
Perry contacted the company during Players Tour Championship (PTC) Event 1. He believes his approach has changed towards the game since he joined the management company. The player also hopes that
he will make further improvements in his game with the help of On Q Promotions.
In his conversation with the local media, Perry said, “I have a new management company and have changed a few things about my approach to snooker which has left me feeling a lot more laid back. The
key for me is trying not to put too much pressure on myself like I have been doing for the last couple of seasons.”
Wisbech-born Perry had an impressive run in PTC Event 1 as he moved to the final of the tournament, where eventually he lost to Ronnie O’Sullivan. However, the Chatteris potter is now looking ahead
at the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open qualifiers, running at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield. He is anxiously waiting for his qualifying match and is determined to make it to Bendigo Stadium in July.
Perry went on to add, “There is no point me worrying too much about my opponents like I had been doing. I know I have the game to compete against the best players in the world and feel confident that
I can carry on doing that for the rest of the season.”
The 2011 Australian Goldfields Open will commence from July 18 to 24 at Bendigo Stadium in Victoria. It is the first ever high ranking tournament on Australian soil.
