Joe Perry joins Barry Hawkins, Gerard Greene, Mark Allen in Pink Army, On Q Promotions: PTC Event 1
Englishman Joe Perry joined fellow cuemen, Barry Hawkins, Mark Allen and Gerard Greene, at On Q Promotions’ Pink Army on Wednesday, June 22. On Q Promotions are also excited to have Perry under the
umbrella of their management services.
While speaking to the local media, Perry said about signing On Q Promotions, “I’m really pleased to have joined On Q Promotions having seen close friends on the circuit being well looked after and
happy with them. I feel I am at a turning point in my career at the moment having had a couple of disappointing seasons so this move is a brand new start for me in time for the new season.”
He added, “I’m confident that this fresh start is what I need to get back to where I was. I’m going into this season thinking about winning tournaments. I want to get that winning attitude back, believing
I can go and win.”
On Q Promotions chairman, Paul Mount remarked that he and his management is delighted to have Joe Perry in their Pink Army and they are positively looking forward for a sound partnership with the
36-year-old from Chatteris.
He added that Perry is not only a superb player but a strong character too, which means Pink Army has got two outstanding spirits merged in one human being. Mount has known Perry from his performances
at international venues and believes Gentleman Perry is a winner and will continue to fulfill his potential in the upcoming years.
Perry started his career brilliantly, reaching the final of 2011 Players Tour Championship (PTC) Event 1 but unfortunately, he had Ronnie O’Sullivan as his opponent in the final. It took 51 minutes
and superb knocks of 60, 105 and 117 for O’Sullivan to whitewash Perry 4-0 in the final.
Although Perry lost in his first title match, there is plenty to come in the season and his first priority is to qualify for Australian Goldfields Open 2011 running from July 18 to 24 at Bendigo Stadium
in Victoria.
