Joe Spina ready to pummel Vladine Biosse for USA New England super middleweight title – Boxing News
Joe Spina, the former IBF Intercontinental and WBC United States (USNBC) super middleweight champion, will take on Vladine Biosse, the current USA New England super middleweight champion, in an eight-round bout which will be held on May 24, 2012.
The bout, with Biosse’s title on the line, will headline the showdown organised and promoted by Jimmy Burchfield of Classic Entertainment & Sports. The ring for the event will be set up at Twin River Event Center situated in Lincoln, Rhode Island, United
States and the Thursday night showdown will also witness Richard Gingras and Terrance Smith take on each other in a non-title six-round bout while constituting the co-main event.
Joe, 34, recently shared his thoughts in a media interaction during a training session and commented that he does not believe that Vladine has the capability to take him on adding that he will knock him out most probably till the fourth round.
Spina, also known as the ‘K.O Kid’, is duly confident and somewhat true in his claim since he already possesses a huge upper hand over young Biosse. Joe has been in a total 30 bouts and emerged victorious in 26.
He has nailed a huge 18 men by knockout and has collected just two losses in his long career. In addition, he has also won the apex IBF intercontinental divisional title and is coming from a split decision close lose to Jerson Ravelo.
It is his last bout that has irked him a lot and has altogether revamped him into a perfected pugilist. His opponent, Vladine, on the other hand, has been in a total 14 bouts. The 29-year-old Biosse has nailed 12 opponents and only six via knockout.
Moreover, he has also collected one loss via KO, an aspect that he must keep in his mind all the time during the bout since Spina is the one who is the knockout specialist. Another facet that puts maximum odds in favour of Joe is the fact that Vladine is
going through a bit declining phase since he has collected just one win in his last three bouts.
During the media interaction, Spina while showing his changed physique boasted, “Fourth-round knockout. I just don’t think he’s up to my ability. I’ve been in the gym for a while now getting ready for this, so I feel good.”
When asked as to what he feels about Vladine, Joe stated, “Vla’s a great kid – a tough kid – but he stays too long in front of you. I just don’t see him handling my power. I punch too hard and I’m too big.”
The pay-per-view is being named as ‘Up For Grabs’ and will definitely witness a huge one-on-one collision between two of the best Providence pugilists.
