Joe Thornton in Colorado?

Question

Anyone heard anything about the possibility of Thornton playing somewhere other than San Jose next season? Someone I know saw him last week at a movie theatre remarkably close to where the Avs practice, and where a lot of them live....

The chances of the Sharks moving Thornton are very low, unless Thornton is unhappy with his Contract, or he is not happy playing for the Sharks. I can see why he would not be happy in San Jose, because the Sharks failed to get out of the second round in the three years he has been there. Joe had a lot going for him in Boston, but the bruins began to go downhill and he wanted out. Joe wants to be with a team that contends. If he was to be traded, he would be going out east. With Cheechoo going to the east, either Buffalo or Boston, Thornton will be going east too. Carolina or the Senators would be a good fit for him.

I expect that many people go to that area to vacation. I wouldn't read too much into it. Heck, if I thought all the players who come to Boston to vacation are then going to sign with the B's, the Bruins would have themselves a Cup by now.

I saw Gomez the other day, guess he is leaving the NHL and going to come home and play in the ECHL.  He was across the street from Aces main office after all.
