Joel Hanrahan shows optimism to start with Boston Red Sox – MLB Update
Former Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Joel Hanrahan is showing optimism to start with the Boston Red Sox. He recently spoke to some media personals and explained in detail about his new beginning with the South Boston baseball franchise.
He last played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and showed good commitment throughout the season. Achieving good numbers on the mound, Hanrahan proved his game with best outcome. He went with 2.72 ERA along with 36 saves, 67 strikeouts and 1.27 WHIP.
Not only in the last Major League event but Hanrahan has been playing consistently since his arrival in the league. He is currently consistent at his career ERA of 3.74 along with 96 saves, 436 strikeouts and 1.39 WHIP.
“It was a great conversation, obviously, He told me they're excited to have me there. ... I'm excited for the opportunity. I wasn't sure what the role was going to be, because there are obviously guys who have closed there before, with great success," Hanrahan
said of Red Sox manager John Farrell whom he met recently.
Later Red Sox assistant general manager Brian O'Halloran said and told the media personals about Hanrahan and his other aspects of the game, “His stuff, as I'm sure you've seen, is right at the top of the scale. He's got a fastball in the upper 90s, and
when he's right, his slider is as good as anybody's in baseball, I spoke with John earlier, he has spoken with both Bailey and Hanrahan, so I don't mind sharing with you.”
Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox now feel more confident going into a new season with a talented bullpen. They have some good relievers in the roster that will provide them with good offence as well.
Alfredo Aceves is an experienced Major League Baseball campaigner and knows his game well. He played well in the last season and achieved good numbers of 5.36 ERA along with 25 saves, 75 strikeouts and 1.32 WHIP. He has good career numbers as well. He currently
holds a good career record of 3.56 along with 29 saves, 242 strikeouts and 1.15 WHIP.
