Joeri Verlinden wins Men’s 50m butterfly title: Day four – 2012 Netherlands Championships
Joeri Verlinden of E ON-NZA won gold medal of the Men’s 50m butterfly on final day of the 2012 Netherlands Swimming Championships in Amsterdam on Sunday, June 10.
Verlinden showed no mercy to his opponents and spoiled their party by occupying gold medal of the 50m discipline. With his persistent efforts, he devastated hopes of his competitors, who were trying to secure gold medal of the event.
His stupendous efforts placed him prominently ahead of his challengers in the single lap event as he captured gold medal of the event with the timing of 24.21 seconds.
His impeccable swim remained 0.56 seconds faster from Tim van Deutekom of DWK, who followed him on the finishing end as second position holder by posting a time of 24.77 seconds.
Third spot of the race was secured by Mike Marissen of RTC Drachten, who stayed only 0.11 seconds away from overpowering the silver medallist and paved his way to the finishing end with the timing of 24.88 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Baars Jeroen of MNC Dordrecht, who was only 0.14 seconds slower from overpowering his former finisher and transpired on the finishing blockade as fourth best finisher with the timing of 25.02 seconds.
Baars remained exactly 0.20 seconds faster from his closest swimmer, Fabian Beimin of AZ&PC, who proved his eligibility for fifth position of the discipline by submitting a time of 25.22 seconds.
Sixth position of the discipline was secured by Jens Bakker of E ON-NZA, who remained 0.19 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing wall with an effort of 25.41 seconds.
Bakker was chased by Jeroen Stuut of TriVia, who remained 0.07 seconds apart and clocked a timing of 25.48 seconds for seventh position.
Last position of the discipline was secured by Steven Nonnekes of EIFFELswimmersPSV, who was 0.14 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end as eighth position holder with the timing of 25.62 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship provided a great opportunity to their national swimmers to warm up before the 2012 London Olympic Games while the session ended after the conclusion of all planned events.
