The 30-year-old has expressed regret over his troublesome past and has vowed to be a better person in future

Barton’s troublesome past is one of the reasons why he has only one international cap to his name, despite having enormous potential to succeed at this level.

While talking to reporters, the former Newcastle United midfielder stated that it was really stupid of him to do such things and he can’t explain why he did all that.
"I look at it now and it's almost like it's not me. I'm like, what the **** were you thinking?”
Joey Barton added that he used to think that his behaviour was correct to some extent. However, now looking back at all those crazy things he did, the 30-year-old knows that he was wrong and he shouldn’t have done that.
"At the time in some weird way I thought it was the correct way but, looking at it now, I know it wasn't.
The former Manchester City player has vowed to get his career back on track during his time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899, after being loaned out to Marseille by his parent club.
Joey Barton stated that he has put all his troubles in past and he is only looking to the future. And the Englishman has vowed to learn from his mistakes and he wants to be a better person, both on the field and away from it.
"I've got to learn a lesson from that. I have grown up a lot now. The thing it reiterated to me was just how far I am from the person I want to be, I am not the person I probably should have been."
The midfielder is ineligible to play in the Ligue 1 until November, because of the 12-match ban imposed on him by the Football Federation.
