The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international was signed by Les Phoceens in the summer, but has yet to play in the league because of the ban imposed on him by the FA.
While talking to reporters, the former Manchester City midfielder has expressed his delight at the way things have penned out following his move to Marseille in the summer.
The midfielder stated that he thought it would be harder for him to settle at Canebiere, considering the fact that he is totally new to the French culture and way of life. However, things are going great for Barton at the moment and he is thankful to the
Rhone giants for making life easier for him.
“I thought that integration would be more difficult in French football, the French culture and way of life, but it was facilitated by the club.”
The 30-year-old added that everyone at the club has been really nice to him ever since he has arrived at Stade Velodrome, and players are really helping.
"The staff and players have been incredibly welcoming; everyone helps everyone, people talk, they are friendly.”
Barton said that French football is very different from England, and people are friendlier and helping, and that is something that English football lacks.
“Many clubs are not like that. Where I come from, there are many clubs where the players and the staff are separated from the rest.”
Praising Les Phoceens, the former Newcastle player said that the club has helped him a lot, and thanks to them, he is feeling at home with Marseille.
Talking about Les Phoceens’ impressive start to the season, Barton said that it would be hard for him to break into the starting eleven, but is eagerly looking forward to make his Ligue 1 debut.
"The club has helped me tremendously and this has made my life easier. The team has already won six league matches, so it will not be easy for me to make the starting eleven.”
