Jogforjockeys.IE Fillies Race to transform Bogini’s back to back into a hat trick
Clashing with five other three-year-old and above contestants in the Jogforjockeys.IE Fillies Race at Leopardstown over six furlongs on Thursday, 5th July is the three-year-old bay filly, Bogini. It is highly likely that the back to back winner will exploit the €13,000 prize money.
Lucky with the 5 to 2 shot, Holy Roman Emperor’s filly has been active four times during the new season. The progress and consistency of the three-year-old is enviable.
The M. D. O’Callaghan trained finished seventh in the seasonal debut on 18th May, 2012 at York in the Ralph Raper Memorial Stakes (Handicap) over five furlongs. The race was won by, Morocco Moon, who defeated Annie Beach, the runner up, by a short head’s difference.
Making a drastic improvement by the second try of the season, the bay filly out of mare, Alexander Queen, took up the third position in the Download The Blue Square App Handicap on 31st May at Ayr over five furlongs.
The final stages of the race witnessed the favourite winner, and the runner-up struggling to make it through the wire, and eventually the fate was settled by a short head's difference.
Bogini made the third outing of the season the most important as this one culminated into her seasonal debut success. She won the Bath Ales Gem Fillies’ Handicap on 8th June, 2012 at the Bath race course over five furlongs.
The Irish bay filly did not lead from the early stages of the race rather posed a threat for the leading when there were two more furlongs to cover. She did not have to put in much of an effort, and went beyond the line comfortably.
Getting defeated by five lengths was the runner-up, I See You.
She then paired up wins by bagging the Mediforce Independent Ambulance Handicap on 15th June, 2012 at Sandown over five furlongs.
The favourite winner of the race was prominent almost throughout the race after breaking from the first stall, and racing towards the inside. She dominated the race by the margin of 2 ¼ lengths. Setting as the runner-up was, Jocasta Dawn.
The three-year-old got the two wins when she was riding under jockey, Matthew Cosham, but today she will get paired up with, Fergal Lynch .
