Johan Cruijff Schaal: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AFC-Ajax-c38228 Amsterdam vs. FC Twente Enschede – Preview
After a two-month break, the Dutch Eredivisie action is going to commence on Saturday, July 30, when Ajax Amsterdam take on FC Twente Enschede at Amsterdam Arena. Johan Cruijff Schield is up for grabs.
Ajax Amsterdam
The Amsterdammers would be looking to commence the 2011/12 campaign on a high note by comprehensively defeating their rivals and winning the first prize of the new season. Furthermore, the Dutch champions would be looking to avenge last year’s defeat to
the same opposition, when the Tukkers bettered them 1-0.
Although many believe the one-game shield decider is not an important prize, Frank de Boer, Ajax manager, believes otherwise.
“Of course it is not the main prize, but it is a prize. Furthermore, the game against Twente would benefit us a lot for the upcoming season. A week before the regular season commences, we will against a strong team and would be able to see exactly where
we stand”, De Boer said.

The Tukkers won the Shield last year by beating the Amsterdammers under the leadership of Michel Preud’homme. Co Adriaanse, the Tukkers new manager, would also be hoping to kick-start the campaign with silverware, just like Preud’homme did last season.
The vastly experienced trainer believes that the Shield match against the Amsterdammers will certainly be a great test for him and revealed that he would love to win the first prize of the 2011/12 campaign.
“If I compare Twente and Ajax, you will see the difference immediately. There are only few prizes in Twente, while the trophy case of Ajax is complete full. I would love to add some prizes, starting with Cruijff Shield”, Adriaanse said.

Players to watch
Theo Janssen – Ajax Amsterdam
The upcoming clash will be remembered for long by the 30-year-old, as he would be playing for the first prize against his former employers. The highly-rated midfielder would certainly be looking to make an impact in his debut for De Joden.
The vastly experienced midfielder is known in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 for his impressive playmaking and his powerful long range strikes that make him a constant threat for any opposition. With his abilities and skills, the Dutch International could very well be the
decisive factor between the two sides.

Although the Austrian International performed impressively for the Tukkers in his debut season at De Grolsch Veste, many believe that the tall striker failed to deliver the performances that were expected from him.
However, the striker is brimming with confidence after the arrival of Adriaanse and would make life stiffer for the Amsterdammers’ back-line.
