In reference to the recent refereeing controversy in Real Madrid’s fixtures, the Dutch legend believes Los Blancos are finding excuses for their inability to win matches.
After suffering back-to-back draws against Malaga and Villarreal, the Spanish giants thrashed Real Sociedad 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in their latest La Liga fixture.
Madrid’s league win over their Basque rivals saw an end to refereeing controversy and the lifting of media block-out as Jose Mourinho entertained reporters.
In the wake of recent developments, Barcelona legend, Johan Cruyff, launched another scathing attack on Los Blancos.
The Catalan national team manager attributed Madrid’s criticism of referees as finding excuses for their poor performances. He added that the Spanish giants cannot admit that they have slacked out in their displays and have found the referees as the
scapegoats.
Cruyff was quick to point out that Real reacted differently when they profit from refereeing decisions in their matches against Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano. He commented that Los Blancos were no better than their rivals and find it difficult to admit
the problem lies within.
"Madrid are sore losers looking for excuses," Cruyff wrote in his column for El Periodico de Catalunya.
"Against Malaga and Villarreal, they did not do any worse than when they played against Betis or Rayo Vallecano.”
"They won matches when they did not deserve to and they drew matches when they had everything to win. It is just that simple.”
"Nowadays, Madrid either win or they are left angry. There is no middle ground."
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 ‘Dream Team’ manager also shed his views on the Catalan side’s impressive performances in La Liga over the course of last month, but believes the title is out of their hands.
Cruyff stated that the league is Madrid’s to lose and La Blaugrana can do little about it.
"Barca cannot win La Liga," Cruyff added. "They cannot win it no matter how great they are.”
Barcelona and Real Madrid are both on their road to win European glory as UEFA Champions League resumes. The Catalan outfit travel to the San Siro for their quarter-final first leg fixture against AC Milan, while Madrid travels to Nicosia for their
European encounter with APOEL.
