The Dutchman believes that the spending spree of PSG is not beneficial for the future of the club, and that the current administration has limited its objective to achieve short term goals instead of long term ones.
Johan Cruyff has criticised, what he believes to be short term thinking by the French Ligue 1 outfit, Paris Saint-Germain, saying that the club only seeks to achieve immediate success through money instead of thinking about the long term benefits for the
club.
Since the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Sports Investments bought the Paris-based club, they’ve been on a spending spree and show no signs of slowing down. The club intends to buy players who can perform and contribute in attaining good results, regardless of their price tag or
whether they would fit in the team or not.
The former Barcelona manager thinks that while the current management is obsessed with winning and buying the best players in the world, it is over looking the talent that the club itself produces. With the PSG Reserves and Academy regarded as one of the
most prestigious football institutions in the country, the club must also seek to promote it’s own young talent, giving them a chance to play at the big stage.
Paris Saint-Germain has become the ‘Manchester City’ of Ligue 1, who is spending aggressively upon buying new players, instead of effeciently using it’s own players, who have the capacity to lead the club to success.
Cruyff went on to state that:
“It is always possible to buy a team, just like PSG did. But spending a lot of money is not in the club's interest, except in the short-term.”
Although Carlo Ancelotti's side are currently at the top of the table but their results haven’t been satisfactory despite the huge amount of investment being brought in the club. And that is where Cryuff’s point of view is proven, that despite trying to
buy their way to success, they’re still unable to perform like a true victorious side.
PSG are yet to win any silverware since the new owners took over the club and seem desperate to do it, with the club’s star-studded squad and the aim to still bolster it with more world class talent, the Ligue 1 outfit may just win their short terms goals
they seek to.
