The Dutch legend has taken out time to applaud the managerial skills of the outgoing La Blaugrana head coach.
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 manager, Johan Cruyff, has voiced his admiration for the club’s soon-to-be former boss, stating that his relationship with his team was inspirational.
Cruyff expressed that Guardiola had to do a lot more than just planning the tactics for the Spanish giants.
He stressed the importance of the relationship that the Catalan mentor shared with his men, claiming that he was in charge of solving a number of important matters and he did that very well.
The former Ballon d’Or winner revealed that the Spaniard had to control the egos of his players and he made sure that the Barca locker room had a pleasant environment at all times.
The Dutchman exclaimed that being in charge of affairs at a team like Barcelona really puts pressure on an individual and the club’s outgoing manager has thrived under the circumstances quite well.
It was announced last month that the Catalan tactician will not be renewing his current contract, which ends this summer, with the Azulgrana. Hence, Guardiola’s departure from the Nou Camp became imminent.
However, the departing head coach leaves behind him an excellent spell of 4 years, which is believed to be the best in the club’s history.
While talking to reporters, Johan Cruyff was quoted as saying:
"I understand him. He's had to control a lot of egos in the dressing room and it’s hardly surprising he ran out of steam. It's best to quit while you’re ahead. If Guardiola wasn’t informed and nobody consulted him, things can't be working internally."
“Being the Barcelona coach is a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 that really weighs on you. There are lots of egos in the dressing room, and the matches - every three days - are tough. It's hard. I imagine it took some time for him to leave, but if it's true what they say - it’s all
rather strange."
Pep Guardiola’s last game as the Barcelona manager will be the final of the Copa del Rey which takes place at the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon on May 25th.
