window. He played 16 games for Hannover and impressed during his loan spell.
"I'm very happy now that everything is sorted. HSV are a big club, with a lot of quality and great fans," the centre-back who came through the ranks of Arsenal FC youth academy added.
As a result of this, they were willing to sign him but he has decided to sign for Hamburg instead. He will spent the next campaign on loan and the Bundesliga side have the option to buy him on a permanent deal at the end of the
term.
"I am convinced that this is the right step for my career,” the central defender was quoted as saying in an interview
The talented defender claimed that he is pleased to finalise his move. He said that Hamburg are a great team and have loyal supporters. He thinks that he is moving in the right direction and will mature as a professional player.
He stated that if he had stayed with the Gunners he would have made more money but that is not important than his career.
"In London I would have earned much more money but that has not been decisive,” the Swiss defender mused.
