  1. Both are great options to have but injury issues aside Santana is a beast every year AFTER the All Star break. Check his splits, he gets in that groove and becomes virtually unhittable. Either way you will get incredible numbers but the safer guy might be Santana, history suggests another banner 2nd half without injury worries. But if you can deal with the worry then Harden is the best K pitcher in the game right now and plays on the better team. Plus his ERA and WHIP are as good as it gets so those coupled with the sure wins and he could be the best pitcher in the game right now. I would personally be inclined to see if Santana can repeat yet again but I wouldnt be concerned riding out Harden. Either way if both stay healthy you cant lose.

  2. Pull the trigger,,,I think red sox fan is the drunk one.

Santana has always been a 2nd half beast.Harden has always been a second half ward unit patient.

    ~Good Luck!~

  3. wow everyone here is an idiot.

yea the mets are really givin santana run support. after all that's why he's 7-7. he has no complete games no shutouts, his era is 2.96. the mets have no offense. delgado has a .243 average, beltrans hitting .269 and i dont see how wright can carry this team. he said he doesn't want to be the leader. the mets are barely over .500.

harden is the much better choice no doubt about it. harden was injured earlier this year and almost has more k's than johan. his era is a miniscule 2.34. he's 5-1 record with the a's and he'll be getting a lot more run support on the cubs. he's consistent too. he's struck out at least 4 batters in all of his starts this season.

sure harden is injury prone but i'd take the risk. harden is by far better than johan any day of the week. santana's overrated. i would rather have harden than santana no doubt.

pronk : wow you're basing that johan will do good in the 2nd half all because he "always does good 2nd half"

you pay too much attention to the stats man.

harden is on right now and when harden is healthy he is one of the best pitchers in the league.

and don't tell me johan isn't overrated. he is. his era has been climbing steadily over the past years. it was 3.33 just last year. he's 7-7 this year. his era is 2.96. harden is 5-1 with a 2.34 era. how can you think johan is better? sounds to me like you don't know a thing about baseball.

  4. check this out....harden has always landed on the dl but is a great pitcher..........SANTANA is a GREAT pitcher wth a proven record....also on a solid hitting team that will have a better second half ......SANTANa fearless forecast: 90ip 120k 2.35 era 1.01 whip  8w 3 L

  5. I would rather have Santana than Harden.

  6. In a New York Minute, pun intended. Hurry up before the cancel the offer. Go. Go now. Hurry. Whomever is offering this is drunk and will sober up soon.

  7. Yes.  Harden is too injury prone for me.  Johan will do much better in the second half of the year.  No question, I would do the trade.
