Johannes Neumann seizes Men’s 50m breaststroke gold: Day five – German Olympic Trials
Johannes Neumann of SC Wiesbaden 1911 seized gold medal of the Men’s 50m breaststroke final on fifth day of the 2012 German Olympic Trials in Berlin on May 14.
Neumann demonstrated his extraordinary efforts in the shortest breaststroke discipline and emerged on the finishing end for the crown of the event.
With his stupendous efforts, he remained marginally ahead of his challengers from the start of the event and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal by clocking a time of 28.09 seconds.
The champion was followed by Erik Steinhagen of SG Essen, who remained just 0.03 seconds apart and hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 28.12 seconds for silver medal.
Third finest spot of the race was secured by Maximilian Kraus of SV Halle, who stayed 0.39 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing end with the timing of 28.51 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Fabian Schwingenschlogl of 1.FCN Schwimmen, who stayed 0.11 seconds apart and secured fourth position of the event with an effort of 28.62 seconds.
Fifth position of the spot of the event was obtained by Bastian Vollmer of SG HT16, who remained 0.23 seconds slower and settled on the wall by producing a time of 28.85 seconds.
Vollmer was chased by Florian Berger of VfL Sindelfingen, who was just 0.01 seconds slower from his former finisher and emerged on the finishing end for sixth position by submitting an effort of 28.86 seconds.
Similarly, seventh finest spot of the race was secured by Max Werkmeister of SV Wurzburg 05, who remained nearly two strokes behind and transpired on the finishing end with the timing of 29.08 seconds.
Werkmeister was chased by Christian Vom Lehn, who was only 0.06 seconds apart and tapped the wall for eighth position by producing a time of 29.14 seconds.
He was followed by Michel Ullrich and Jonas Schauder, who ended ninth and tenth with timings of 29.45 and 29.54 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship ended after the completion of all swimming events while the position holders received awards and accolades for their notable efforts at the medal ceremony of the championship.
