John Barnes admits Liverpool can live without Luis Suarez – Football News
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player, John Barnes, has claimed that the side can survive if Luis Suarez leaves in the summer transfer window. He stated that this has happened in the past when important players have left but the club has always
managed to comeback by bringing in good replacements.
Luis Suarez’s future at Liverpool looks bleak at the moment as the Uruguayan international wants a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer. The striker has been an important player for Liverpool in the past two years and
his departure will be a huge blow for the side.
Barnes admitted that Suarez is a fantastic player and he has been very important for Liverpool. He stated that the attacker should be sold if he does not want to stay at the club. The former player stated that the club comes first
and individuals that are not happy should be given the go ahead to leave the club.
The club legend claimed that Liverpool have managed to replace the likes of Ian Rush and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 when they left so it should not be a problem. He insisted that he has nothing against Suarez, but feels that the club should
always come first.
“I’d love for Suarez to stay, I think he’s a fantastic player, but if he decides he wants to go, then that’s part of football. What I always say, the club is the most important thing. If Luiz Suarez doesn’t want to be at Liverpool,
Liverpool will still survive. They’ve survived from Ian Rush [leaving], people before and people after. I don’t have a problem with Luis Suarez at all, but the club is the most important thing,” he concluded.
Luis Suarez managed to find the net a staggering 30 times in the 44 games he took part in all competitions. The striker also accumulated 11 assists in the process and was the second highest scorer in the English Premier League
behind Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380.
The player is currently on international duty with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 when his side lost 2-1.
