John Barnes thinks Liverpool should sell Luis Suarez – Football News
Former Liverpool winger, John Barnes, thinks that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 scenario in which
they had to spend £35 million on Andy Carroll as they had no other options.
Luis Suarez has widely been linked with a move away from the club since the start of the summer with the likes of Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 showing interest in signing him. The Gunners have already had two official bids rejected
for the Uruguayan international as the Reds insist they do not want to sell their asset.
Barnes admitted that the club should sell Suarez and spend some time to analyse any replacements they want to sign. He stated that the club cannot afford to leave transfers at the last minute as that will not help their cause.
This happened last year also with Liverpool as they failed to bring in Clint Dempsey from Fulham on the last day of the transfer window.
“We’ve seen in the past when transfers go down to the last minute that it doesn’t help anybody, especially for a club like Liverpool who, if they lose Suarez, would have to find a big-name replacement. I’d like it to be done sooner
rather than later because if it goes down to the last day, and you then have to go and get somebody, it’s not ideal,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Barnes claimed that it would not be suitable to make Suarez stay at the club when he does not want to. He stressed that the player will not be at his best when he is not playing with his full heart.
“We can all say, ‘yes, we think Suarez is going to be a player like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez, who gives 100 per cent no matter what’ but we don’t know what his mental state is going to be if he doesn’t get his wish,” he concluded.
Luis Suarez has stated earlier this summer that he would love to join Real Madrid.
