The Ghana international has expressed his desire to stay with Les Rouges et Noirs for another season thus putting an end to speculation linking him with a move away from the Ligue 1 outfit
The 25-year-old defender has attracted many suitors in recent times with several European clubs reportedly keen to acquire the player’s services.
John Boye performed brilliantly last season and exceeded everyone’s expectations with a number of excellent performances for the French club. Commanding performances at the club level helped him get international recognition and the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heart-of-Lions-c39514
player managed to cement his place in the national side.
The young centre-back, who represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 at the 2012 African Cup of Nations, was undoubtedly one of the best players of the tournament. Boye’s tremendous performances for club and country led to rumours of him being linked with several European clubs.
However, the Ghanaian has revealed that he has not received any offer from any club and has reiterated his desire to continue his adventure with the Ligue 1 outfit.
While talking to reporters, Boye stated that he is still a Rennes player and is hoping to become a better player next season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Boye-c18840, who is set to join his team-mates for the Breton club’s pre-season camp this week, feels that Rennes is the right club for him at the moment.
“What I know is that I’m a Rennes player and I’m playing there next season, only God knows if I will leave the club or not.”
The Ghana international has vowed to perform better than last season as he wants to show that his impressive performances last season were not a one-time thing.
“This is the time I have to work more to show to all and sundry that my form is no fluke, I have to aim high.”
“Everything is okay for me at the club at the moment; I had a great season so I’m just hoping to work harder to achieve more.”
John Boye has promised fans of a more professional performance from the team next season after failing to qualify for the Europa League last time around.
Boye’s decision to stay with Rennes could be considered a setback for several Ligue 1 clubs including the likes of Marseille, PSG and Lyon, who were keeping tabs on the highly-rated defender.
