John Cena, WWE honoured by Make-A-Wish Foundation – Wrestling news
Make-A-Wish Foundation has honoured John Cena, WWE superstar and actor, and WWE for their unparallel support and contributions towards granting 300 wishes of kids with fatal medical conditions.
The foundation has dedicated a WWE-themed conference room in its global headquarters.
It is worth mentioning here that John Cena, rapper, American actor and professional wrestler, received the ‘Chris Greicius Award’ from the Foundation in 2009 for his dedication towards wish kids. Currently, he is working towards granting 300 wishes of kids
with lethal medical conditions.
Not only this, John Cena went the extra mile to make things more exciting for kids, when he paired up with Post Foods to display Make-A-Wish Foundation logo with his picture on boxes of Post Fruity Pebbles Cereal. The newly designed boxes will be available
nationwide after March 2012.
Besides Cena, the WWE and its wrestlers have acquired the same award four times. The WWE and its superstars have been actively involved with the foundation for more than 30 years. To date, WWE celebrities and the organisation as a whole have donated substantial
amount of money to help the foundation make lives of others easier.
David Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, on this occasion expressed, “WWE wishes have been popular since early in the Foundation’s history and we are proud to count the WWE and its Superstars as longtime
supporters. John Cena’s commitment to our mission and his connection with our wish kids make him one of our best wish ambassadors. We are grateful for everything John and WWE have done, and we look forward to them granting many more wishes in the future.”
John Cena, currently, is the most popular WWE figure among children and probably this is the reason why the Foundation has selected him to be the ambassador. He is often requested as a celebrity wish by kids. He will be granting two wishes on this week’s
Monday Night Raw at the US Airways Center in Phoenix.
Being a celebrity of this calibre, it is astounding to see Cena showing such compassion and dedication towards kids. He has been actively participating in activities pertaining to the US Marines and deprived children as well.
