John Cena and Chris Jericho vs. The Miz and Sheamus – Part 1
This was one of the most bizarre Tag Team matches on Monday Night RAW in recent weeks. Enemies had to pair up with each other to fight in the main event. The anonymous General Manager of Monday Night RAW announced that John Cena would team up with the first ever undisputed champion, Chris Jericho to fight against a tag team of champions. By a tag team of champions, the General Manager meant, 'the current United States Champion, The Miz, and the current WWE Champion, the Celtic warrior, Sheamus'.
All four wrestlers despise one another. The Miz won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match a couple of weeks ago and has tried multiple times to attack Sheamus from behind and cash in the Money in the Bank contract. Sheamus was angry at The Miz as he thought the Miz was trying to steal the WWE Championship.
Things were not pleasant between Chris Jericho and John Cena either. Chris Jericho accused John Cena of stealing the lime light and was taking credit to create a team against the Nexus. Chris Jericho mentioned that he was the pro when Wade Barrett was a rookie on NXT so he should get the chance to lead the team against Nexus. Both wrestlers engaged in a heated argument and Chris Jericho vowed in front of the professional wrestling world that he would attack John Cena once he got rid of the Nexus threat.
The tag team match was an explosive main event at RAW and was bound to start and end in controversy, as no wrestler was on the same page. Controversy started when all four wrestlers entered the ring. Every wrestler was willing to be the first one to start the fight. The Miz argued with Sheamus and engaged in a heated debate. The dispute settled when The Miz tried to attack John Cena from behind. The referee signaled the ring boy to ring the bell and proceedings began in the ring. It was funny and bizarre as all four wrestlers needed to watch their backs even when they were concentrating on the wrestlers from the opposite team.
It was John Cena who grabbed Miz’s head and banged it hard on the top turn buckle. John Cena then threw Miz to the ring ropes and smashed his face on the ring floor. John Cena was on a rampage and The Miz rolled out of the ring. Rather than helping his partner to get up in the ring, Sheamus taunted The Miz about his wrestling inabilities. It did not seem like a tag team match as almost everyone was fighting for personal gain and glory.
The Miz responded to Sheamus by tagging him in the ring. The Miz asked Sheamus to fight John Cena so that Sheamus could stop taunting the Miz about his in ring fighting ability. Sheamus trapped John Cena in a vicious head lock. But John Cena responded by running into the ring and knocking Sheamus down by colliding with him. John Cena punched Sheamus to corner him and tagged Chris Jericho in the ring.
Chris Jericho cornered Sheamus and punched Sheamus’s head. Sheamus was in no mood to stay at the receiving end so he fought back by delivering punches towards Chris Jericho’s head. Chris Jericho came around by throwing Sheamus at the ropes and delivering a stylish and effective standing drop kick. Chris Jericho was angry as he illegally used the leverage of the ropes to put pressure on Sheamus neck. The Miz then entered the ring only to receive Chris Jericho’s knee on his jaw. Sheamus tried to distract Chris Jericho by illegally entering the ring. Chris Jericho stopped him by delivering another standing drop kick to his jaw.
