John Cena retains second place again in Power 25 list – WWE Rankings
The current World Wrestling Entertainment Champion, John Cena retained the second place again in the Academy of Wrestling Science and Arts Power 25 list of the WWE, calculated ranking for the week ending on May 14.
On April 9, The Miz put his assistant Alex Riley in a match against John Cena. Miz forced Riley to win the match. However, the WWE Champion, Cena defeated Riley after hitting the Attitude Adjustment. Moreover, The Anonymous Raw General Manager set a Number
One contender match between Miz, Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio. Although Riley lost the match to Cena, he was confronted in the Number One contender match. Riley cost Mysterio the match and gave the victory to Miz.
The WWE Champion came out and shocked Miz with his announcement. Cena stated that he would face The Miz at “Over the Limit” in an “I Quit” match, on May 22. This allowed the WWE Champion, Cena to retain the second place in Power 25 list.
Cena was at the same place in the list that was calculated by the AWAS on May 7. After becoming the Number One contender, Cena fought for the title match against the former champion, Miz and John Morrison at Extreme Rules on May 1. Although R-Truth was confronted
in the match, Cena still became the WWE Champion after beating Morrison and Miz in a brutal Steel Cage match.
On May 2, the former WWE Champion, Miz demanded a rematch for the WWE title. His request was accepted by the Raw General Manager. Riley was confronted in the match and Miz hit Cena with the title belt. The referee realised the disqualification and made his
decision in favour of Cena. Miz lost the match due to the disqualification.
Cena’s opponent of WrestleMania 28, The Rock celebrated his birthday on Monday Night Raw on May 2. Cena also participated in his birthday as a WWE Champion. Cena promised the Rock that he would fight with Rock as WWE Champion at WrestleMania 28 and it would
be the main event.
