John Daly compares the Golf course in Morocco with Augusta National

Booze-lover, long-hitting John Daly is back in action at this week’s Trophee Hassan II in Morocco and is thoroughly impressed with the course layout and the facilities at the royal Palace.
In fact Daly is so overwhelmed with the luxurious course that he went over to compare it with the revered Augusta National at Magnolia Lane.
He said, “This golf course is just beautiful and it is probably more difficult to get on here than it is to play Augusta National”.
Daly has been doing well lately and has experienced a recent upsurge in his otherwise lacklustre performance for the past many years. He posted a strong finish at last year’s Canadian Open and stayed in contention in a few events early this year.
Not being able to qualify for the Arnold Palmer Invitational on PGA this week, Daly went back to his normal route to make it into the Moroccan field through sponsors’ invitation.
He added, “It is amazing what the King did here, to build a golf course like this and I can honestly say that it is one of the nicest courses that I have ever seen and played. A lot of The European Tour players told me how good it was but I wasn’t expecting
it to be this good. I am very impressed - this is very cool”.
The two-time major winner has a long history of alcoholism and gambling and was recently penalised for misconduct in Australian Open last year.
Instead of hanging on with the rest of the rounds, Daly decided to walk away from the event accompanied by his girl friend.
Daly now plays on the Nationwide Tour after his disqualification for the PGA Tour card. Barely affected by the demotion, Daly still makes it into high-profile events with a strong backing from his sponsors who rely mostly on his colourful apparel on the
course.
He will be facing formidable European Tour players of the likes of Edoardo and Francesco Molinari, Major Champions Rich Beem and Michael Campbell, eight-time European Tour Money List winner Colin Montgomerie, Italian teenager Matteo Manassero, defending
champion David Horsey and 2010 champion Rhys Davies.
