John Daly disappoints his fans in the opening round of the Dubai Desert Classic - Golf News
The American professional golfer, John Daly, entered the first round of the Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club on Thursday, February 9, 2012, wearing an interesting outfit that attracted everyone’s attention on the course.
He was wearing aqua coloured trousers with Dubai Marina skyline as a background,
which resembled to the impressionist painting of an aquarium on the 10th hole.
This is not the first time he was seen in such kind of an outfit, as he has always entertained his fans with colourful attire throughout his career.
Daly left the Royal Melbourne Golf Club right in the middle of the 2011 Australian Masters after he shot seven balls in the water pond on the course.
However, he looked confident to make a difference in the field this time when he entered the first round of event.
As he is coming from a strong fourth-place finish at the Qatar Masters last week, he believed that he would make a good start in Dubai too.
However, two bogeys and a triple bogey on par-four ninth spoiled his first round score and he finished one-under par 71.
After the round finished on Thursday, he said that he did not expect such a bad performance in the opening round.
He was expecting a quick and an excellent start, and want to be in contention for the top position from the very first round.
When he was asked about his plans for the second day, he replied by saying that he will try to offset his first round bogeys by carding some birdies.
However, he failed again and the second round’s start was even worse, as he scored a bogey on the back nine followed by a quadruple bogey on the par-four 12th.
It seems he is totally out of focus and does not have anything to offer on the course. He is repeating the same performance that he displayed at the Royal Melbourne.
Daly has faced a similar situation before. He left the course three months ago after sinking balls in the water. Nevertheless, this time he has to stay on the course or he will have to face serious consequences.
