John Danks in doubt over his future with Chicago White Sox – MLB Update
According to some media reports, the Chicago White Sox starting pitcher is not sure over his future with his current team. He has spoke in the media regarding some recent trade speculations by the White Sox general manager Kenny Williams and stated in an
indirect response that he does not care regarding the future of his game in the White Sox franchise.
Danks said, “There's interest in what's going to happen, but I'm not getting bent out of shape about it, I don't know what Kenny is doing right now. For all I know, he's watching his son [Kyle] in the NFL [wide receiver with the 49ers].”
On Saturday, GM Ken Williams confirmed that the White Sox will trade some of their potential players in this offseason in order to obtain more players for future seasons. Though, he did not mention about John Danks and anything which suggests that he will
be traded or on the line to be traded, but these comments alarmed many of the White Sox players including their current star pitcher Danks.
Danks, who is still without a long term contract with the White Sox management, will become a free agent following the 2012 season. But on the other hand, if GM Williams decides to give him an extension, Danks will certainly prove beneficial for the White
Sox franchise.
Ken Williams and the White Sox other top management has offered Danks a potential contact extension in the recent past to bring some stability in the roster, but Danks, for some personal reasons did not accept that offer and remained silent since then.
Some other reports have also come in the media, which are suggesting that Danks and his agent are really in pursuit of making some big money. Both are also waiting and expecting for a big contract from any other team of Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise.
It will be interesting to see what type of offers Danks manages to get during the offseason, as he is a very competitive player will a tremendous amount of talent.
