Bear in mind that, right after Kennedy's assassination, people went looking through the records to find *any* perceived connections between Kennedy and Lincoln.  They kept the hits, left out the misses, and made a big deal about all the coincidences between them, including the one you mention re. their secretaries.

They may even have had more coincidences than average, but that wouldn't be surprising either, given the way statistics work.  Basically, when someone points out a surprising similarity like that, with the implication that there must be a supernatural connection between them, take a step back and give it a skeptical look.
