John Farrell excited to manage Boston Red Sox – MLB Update
Experts say that the Boston Red Sox have landed a right person in-charge of their day to day baseball related affairs along with affairs which are directly related to players. Farrell had been Boston Red Sox’s coach in the past as well and now coming with
a new contract.
"I'm extremely excited to be returning to the Red Sox and to Boston, I love this organization. It's a great franchise in a special city and region, with great fans," Farrell said in a statement released by the Red Sox in which he showed his excitement with
huge confidence.
The Red Sox brought Toronto Blue Jays’ manager John Farrell into their organisation on Saturday when he was traded with mutual consent by all three parties.
Now since he has took over the Red Sox job, he is feeling quite enthusiasm going into new season.
“We met some outstanding managerial candidates in this process, John Farrell brings a unique blend of managerial experience, leadership and presence, pitching expertise, front office experience, and an established track record with many members of our uniformed
staff and members of our front office. He will hit the ground running," Red Sox president Larry Lucchino said in the statement and explained his confidence on new team manager.
Recently, some news papers have also quoted Farrell’s past comments about Red Sox manager as “dream job” in a conversation with team’s General Manager Alex Anthopoulos. Things have worked well since this conversation which was earlier thought to be just
an interview.
“It’s not fair to pin this on one person, John dealt with a lot of challenges,” said Anthopoulos Sunday for new manager.
Farrell spent entire 2012 Major League Baseball season with the Toronto Blue Jays but despite his great efforts, he could not get good results from his roster.
Blue Jays finished fourth in the American League East as they achieved .451 winning percentage. Overall their winning percentage was alright but the level of new signings and the amount money they spent last winter to improve some league record, it was certainly
a bad result. Blue Jays finished with 73 wins and 89 losses with 41-40 home record.
