http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam striker, John Guidetti, has expressed confidence that his side can snatch the second spot from AZ Alkmaar on the league table.
The Rotterdammers are currently sitting third, a single point behind the second placed AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie standings. With four matches left to play before the end of the 2011/12 season, the Rotterdam giants have a bright chance of finishing at
the second spot and participate in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round.
Guidetti, who arrived at De Kuip Stadion from the Citizens earlier this term on a season-long loan deal, has been in prolific goalscoring form. Netting an impressive 20 goals while providing six valuable assists in 23 matches, the Swedish ace has played
an integral role thus far in his side’s impressive performances.
The Rotterdammers will lock horns against ADO Den Haag in their upcoming league encounter at Kyocera Stadion on Sunday, April 22, and the 20-year-old has insisted that his side just needs to win all of its remaining fixtures to finish in the top two Eredivisie
sides.
“We now just have to win everything, then we are second and we participate in the qualifying round of the Champions League. Of course I believe we can - we have it in our own hands, as we have yet to play against AZ at home”, Guidetti was quoted as saying
to Voetbal International.
The Rotterdammers have enjoyed good run of form in recent weeks. They have not tasted defeat in any of their last seven league fixtures, recording wins in five matches while the remaining encounters ended in stalemates.
Guidetti is of the view that the Alkmaar outfit has struggled to achieve good results in the recent weeks, bagging all three points in only one of their last five encounters. He added that his side can certainly move above them in the league standings.
“AZ are not happy with their recent poor performances. We can certainly move above them. Although they performed brilliantly earlier in the season, they have been dropping points consistently as the season is drawing towards an end”, the Swedish ace concluded.
